We test for the causative agent of COVID-19 also known as Sars-CoV-2 through Realtime Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR). It detects whether a person is currently infected with the virus and is contagious.
We're committed to providing attentive customer service by providing answers to any questions you may have about our testing options. We simplify our community's search for our laboratory
to eliminate the process of online search for local Covid testing and a focus on the primary corona virus strain affecting us during this pandemic.
A single negative result using RT-PCR method does not indicate immunity to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, exposure to the virus is dependent on how a person interacts with other infected individuals on a day-to-day basis.
If there's still a concern that a person has COVID-19 after a negative test, then that person should be tested again with a RT-PCR test.
What should I do if I received a positive result?
Call 911 or call ahead to your local emergency facility:
*This list is not all possible symptoms. Please call your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you.
The test is offered at no cost to the patient, we bill your insurance. The state will cover costs for the uninsured. Pursuant to Part II, section 3202 ("Pricing of Diagnostic Testing") of the Coronvirus aid, relief, and economic security act (CARES ACT), Capital Diagnostics has established, and hereby make public, a "cash price" of $100.00 for SARS-CoV-2 COVID-19 diagnostic testing.
Testing allows quick identification of cases, quick treatment for those people and immediate isolation to prevent spread. Early testing also helps to identify anyone who came into contact with infected people so they too can be quickly treated.
An Nasopharyngeal swab is taken by a healthcare provider and sent to the lab for testing.
A positive RT-PCR test means that the person being tested has an active COVID-19 infection.
A negative RT-PCR test means that person was probably not infected at the time the sample was collected. However, it doesn't mean they won't get sick-it only means that they didn't have COVID-19 at the time of testing.
